corporate athleteHaving sung for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics, I have had the privilege of spending a lot of time with Olympic Medalists DURING their time of competition.  It is AMAZING the amount of focus, self-leadership and research that they must undergo in order to compete on the level of becoming BEST in the world.  A gold medalist, for example, may become a champion with a winning margin with as small as a 1/1000th of a second.  That is why they are consistently studying their results and tweaking their diets, shoes, mental focus, sleep, spiritual exercises and every single aspect of their lives in the attempt to find the winning edge.

The term Corporate Athlete is a term used to describe a business person who is dedicated to the master of “life balance”. In his book, “The Corporate Athlete Training Program”, Dr. Jack Groppel states, “Today’s corporate world is much like the world of professional sports:  fiercely competitive, mentally and physically demanding and requiring constant, vigilant training.  More than ever, to maintain health, happiness, and career success, executives and employees must become corporate athletes.”

In today’s podcast,  we talk about taking that same focus and effort and applying it to your business and life.  If you want to go for gold, you have to being willing to PAY THE PRICE.
