Wheel of Success

Today, we are going to take a little survey to look into the overall balance of your life and what you are offering the world around you.  I call it the Wheel of Success and it’s a simple survey of your life behaviors to see how BALANCED you really are and what areas you can work on to be a better leader, spouse and friend.

Look at the “Wheel of Success”. In each category, rate yourself on a scale of 1-10. Giving yourself a “1” means you are doing excellent in that area, where as a ranking of “10” means you see that area as currently failing. For example, look at the area of fitness.

Circle the number that best corresponds with your life as it is today. Are you healthy, in shape, working out daily, experiencing an abundance of energy? If not, be transparent with yourself so you can see the areas that will require the most of your attention when we get to the goal setting portion of this course.

Once you have rated yourself in each area, draw a line connecting the numbers you have circled. This will reveal to you how balanced or “out of whack” your life’s wheel really is. Chances are, your wheel needs some adjusting in order to run a smooth journey of peace in the future. No worries. We’ll begin repairing the imbalance in our next step!

Now…if you were to connect those dots to create your “wheel”, how well would your wagon move with that wheel in mind?  Chances are, there is a major imbalance in your overall leadership mindset.  Take time today to make note of each area and write down what you can do TODAY to better improve in each area.

Make it your goal to end each day BETTER than you were the day before.  Go for a walk.  Make an extra call.  Forgive someone you’ve forgotten.  Let go of that habit.  Whatever it is, make today a GREAT day and never let “good” become robber of what is “BEST”.
