P.U.S.H. (Week 2 “U”)

Staci Headshot Red Jacket

We are in week two of  THE P.U.S.H. series and today we take a look at the “U”.

“U” as in YOU, Inc.

Do you realize that YOU, Inc. is the GREATEST brand you will ever represent?  No matter what company, product, concept, party or organization you may call your own, YOU, Inc. will always be the most powerful key to your legacy.  “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”  Proverbs 22:1

We see athletes, leaders, ministers, executives who work their entire lives to get to the top only to fall from that summit due to allowing their brand or reputation to be tarnished through a series of bad decisions.

Let’s face it.  None of us are perfect.  We’ve all got areas of weakness we need to work on and some are more visible than others.  When Denise Gerrich shared her story on our Warrior Wakeup live Facebook chat this week, she was transparent in admitting that her area of challenge has been the voices in her head which eventually led her to poor eating habits that manifested in obesity.  While Denise may have had to overcome choices in her nutritional lifestyle and mental clarity, your area of weakness might be in the area of finances, anger, envy or alcohol abuse.   There is not ONE among us that is without “issues” we need to correct.  But what makes a great leader is not they are free from adversity temptation.  But the greatest leaders of our time have always been those who PUSHED through those voices of opposition to find the value of their own life and brand so that it could become a light of hope to others.

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Cor. 10:13

How you represent YOU, Inc in the marketplace or to your family can make or break your next level.  What area of life does YOU, Inc need to clean up, grow up or elevate to another level?

I had the blessing of traveling with Zig Ziglar and other world leaders for over 12 years on stage.  One of the greatest things I loved about Mr. Ziglar (I called him “Pops”) was that he was the same authentic man of integrity OFF stage as he was ON stage.  He used to talk about the Wheel of Success and how important it was to evaluate and RE-evaluate your own leadership often.  I have put together a new Wheel of Success for you to consider.

Look at each area and rank yourself from 1 to 10.  (1 is PERFECTION)   Once you have ranked yourself, connect the numbers with a line as if you are drawing a circle.  Chances are, if the wheel you draw represents the road ahead, you would be in rough shape and a bumpy road.

Take time today to consider something you can do in each of those areas to improve YOU, Inc.  Then, make a point EVERY day to grow into a more balanced leader of integrity worth following.
