What is love? In 1992, my life changed forever. I had been a country music recording artist and serial entrepreneur that was searching for love in all of the wrong places. Then, after months of severe depression, I went to a Christian Leader’s Conference and found my life again. I heard one of the keynote speakers talk about her journey with God and began to see that the Bible that I had grown up hearing about as a preacher’s kid was SO MUCH MORE than just a book of stories….it was book after book of LIFE’S REMEDIES.
From that conference forward, a pendulum shifted in my life, and I fell deeply in love with God, and I hungered to sing for Him, study Him and live my life with a new sense of purpose. Shortly after that, I met a Christian recording artist named Carman Licciardello who became a friend, encouraging me to start writing songs from the stories of my life. After that very first breakfast with Carman, I went home and wrote 22 songs in 3 weeks. It was miraculous really. Something beautiful opened up in my soul and songs from heaven began to flow from my heart.
In 1994, I recorded my very first CD called, “Brand New Life.” It was truly the story of my life. Every song was a picture of the masterful journey God was taking me on in healing my heart after abuse, divorce, and suicidal depression. It was a CD that would set the course for a decade of my life where my heart, mind, and spirit were solely focussed on full-time ministry to others around the world. In that decade, I ministered to MILLIONS of people around the world through television shows, International conferences, and by traveling church to church with a missionary heart dedicated to bringing hope, help, and healing to others.
Today, I want to share one of the very first songs I ever wrote with you and give you a FREE download. It is called “Portrait of Love, own ” and I wrote it while overlooking a stunning scene of God’s beautiful creation, falling deeper and deeper in love with His Word and the knowledge of His Grace life.
